The day of Valor(Araw ng Kagitingan)

 Araw ng Kagitingan is a regular holiday in the Philippines and occurs on or around April 9. Many streets are closed and public transport routes may be redirected to give way for parades. Malls and other leisure areas remain open and most people may go to these places and use this day as a family day. It was a national observance until a Letter of Instruction No. 1087, dated on November 26, 1980, made “Araw ng Kagitingan” a national public holiday to honor the people who helped bring democracy and freedom in the Philippines during the World War II era. Executive Order No. 203, dated on June 30, 1987, further proclaimed April 9 as “Araw Ng Kagitingan” to pay tribute to the heroes of Bataan, Corregidor and Bessang. Kannawidan Festival

 Ilocos Sur is a beautiful province located in the northern part of Luzon. It is a province rich in culture that represents the ancient Spanish and Filipino heritage. To show and share their treasures to the whole world, the locals conceived a festival that highlights these cultural traditions and they called it the “Kannadiwan Festival” It is a celebration that lasts from the last week of January up to the first week of February. Included in the course of events is the commemoration of the foundation day of the province.The local government of Ilocos Sur thought of this festival to encourage the younger generations to learn the indigenous songs and dances of the province, but this year as the pandemic is still here, they ensure that it is celebrated in some way, The government of the city planned to make it a low key celebration and places a high value on social distance and hygiene standards.  The  celebration of Vigan festival is not the same as before but its still ma...

Reflection for Quarter 3

  I learned things about our culture, the common things that our community have.   I experience making things to sell  the community's  number one products or encouraging tourist is really hard for the people most specially in time of pandemic. This lesson made me proud of my community and  to value  our local products. 

Vaccination for childrens and teens

 COVID-19 vaccines for now are for  adults over the age of 18, a growing number   of vaccines are being recommended for childrens and teens.Parents commonly question if vaccines will cause any side effects in their children or negative effects ,and  they will be the one to decide if their children will get vaccinated.        Vaccinating children will stop the pandemic and limit the spread of hazardous mutations. The majority of children who test positive for COVID will benefit from vaccination, which will help them be healed or have minimal health consequences.  Vaccination can help to prevent infections and disease transmission, assuring the safety of kids and employees. It  helps both professors and students to be safe as they prepare to resume face-to-face classes.  

Women empowerment

 International Women's Day is global  celebration of women's achievements in social, economic, cultural, and political fields.  It is a day on which women are recognized for their achievements and success,  International Women's Day is meant also for womens empowerment and equality. Women's empowerment  allows women to make life-determining decisions through the different problems in society.They may have the opportunity to redefine gender roles or other such roles, which in turn may allow them more freedom to pursue desired goals. Women's empowerment is a step for a equilty, we must  honor  and respect all the  women,they have rights  be treated equally. 

Lenten Season

 Catholics celebrating Lent  every year, a day of remembering our humanity, the reality of death, and the need for repentance. Churches symbolize this by putting ashes on foreheads, often in the shape of a cross.Lent is the time of repentance, a humble understanding of knowing that we are all born with the curse of sin and that there is repentance required. The purpose of Lent is to fully recognize our brokenness as humans and the need for a Savior. The time period of Lent allows for us to reflect and open our hearts to Jesus.
